Gold ★ days are booked (Hilton, flights + Tokyo Airbnb 10–16 Nov). Coloured bars are rough city plans (~1 week each), travelling between cities by train only.

🎌 Japan holidays: Mon 23 Nov is Labor Thanksgiving Day — Sat–Mon 21–23 Nov is a long weekend, so expect crowds and busy hotels. 15 Nov is Shichi-Go-San (children's shrine festival, not a day off). ~26–29 Nov is the typical Tokyo/Kyoto ginkgo & maple peak. No national holidays in December during the trip (25 Dec is not a holiday; banks close from 31 Dec, after we're home). Tirol autumn school break was 27–31 Oct, so this trip falls in Japan's autumn peak, not Austrian school holidays.
